Since 2021, Labryinto has built a festival inside the forest of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Art carries as much weight as the music. Sculpture, interactive installations, and set design made for the ground it stands on.

Réveillon Carneiros is a New Year immersion at Praia dos Carneiros, in Tamandaré, Brazil. Music, art, wellness and nature, from the sea in the morning to the stages after dark.

Where it is
One of the most beautiful coastlines in the northeast.
Pernambuco sits in the northeast of Brazil, facing the Atlantic. Recife is the capital, and the coast to its south is where the reefs begin. Praia dos Carneiros runs about 2 miles (3 km), at the mouth of the Rio Formoso, with water that stays warm all year.

The reserve
Costa dos Corais, the largest marine protected area in Brazil, takes in this whole stretch of coast. The reefs are living coral: look without touching.
The pools
They only form at low tide, and the best windows during the event fall on December 26, 27 and 28, around midday.
The town
Tamandaré, with about 25,000 people. Recife, the state capital, is 56 miles (90 km) up the coast.
After dark
Five nights, each with a world of its own.
The Night Celebrations are the parties that run after dark. Three stages open every night, Mainstage, Trópico and Labryinto Stage, all with an open bar and unlimited dining. Réveillon starts earlier and goes until eight in the morning.

The day
Beach in the morning, Mouton at sunset, Celebrations until dawn.
Mouton opens at 9am for the beach and the restaurant, free to every guest. The sunset party starts at 4pm, and the Night Celebrations run from 10pm to 6am. Réveillon runs longer at both ends, from 8pm to 8am.

Getting there
Fly into Recife (REC).
Recife (REC) is the busiest airport in northeastern Brazil, about 56 miles (90 km) from the beach, an hour to an hour and a half by road.

Step 02
The last 90 km
No ticket includes ground transport. There are three ways to do it:
- Taxi or ride app — straight from the airport. App coverage thins out near Carneiros, so arrange the return ahead of time.
- Rental car — every major company operates at the airport. Worth it if you want to move around the region.
- Private transfer — Injoy Travel and Dmand Concierge arrange it, and it is the easiest option if you land late.

Visa and vaccines
Visa required
United States, Canada and Australia. It is issued online and costs US$ 80.90. You can stay 90 days per entry, and no more than 180 in any 12-month period. The official portal recommends applying about two months out.
No visa needed
Costa Rica, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia.
Yellow fever
Brazil does not require proof of vaccination to enter the country, and the vaccine is not recommended for trips limited to Recife and the coast of Pernambuco.

Lodging is booked separately, through two official partners.
No ticket includes lodging, flights or transfers. There are only so many houses and guesthouses in the area, and New Year is the busiest week on this coast, so book early. These are the two official partners of the event.

Do I need a separate ticket for the Labryinto Stage?
No. The Labryinto Stage is one of three stages running at the Night Celebrations, so it comes with any pass for that night.
What exactly does the ticket include?
At the five Night Celebrations, everything you eat and drink is included: open bar and unlimited dining all night. Walking into Villa Mouton is also free for ticket holders. At Mouton Beach Club, though, drinks and food are sold separately, and Villa services such as the spa, salon and barber are charged as you go.
Do I need a visa to enter Brazil?
Yes, if you hold a passport from the United States, Canada or Australia. The visa is issued online, costs US$ 80.90, and lets you stay 90 days per entry, up to 180 in any 12-month period. Costa Rica, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia enter without one.
How do I get to Praia dos Carneiros?
Fly into Recife airport (REC), then head about 56 miles (90 km) down the southern coast, a drive of 60 to 90 minutes. You can take a taxi, a ride app, a rental car or a private transfer. No ticket covers this leg.
Is lodging included?
No. Lodging, flights and transfers are on you. Injoy Travel puts together packages that bundle flights, lodging and tickets, and Dmand Concierge curates houses and flats in the area.
Has the line-up been announced?

What is the weather like in December?
Highs around 86 °F, lows around 75 °F, with the sea at about 82 °F. December and January are the driest stretch of the year on this coast, with short showers rather than all-day rain.
What should I bring?
Cash, because Tamandaré has no bank branch, and a plug adapter: outlets in Brazil run 220V at 60 Hz on the Brazilian type N, a shape most travelers have never seen. Pix, the local instant payment system, needs a Brazilian bank account and is not open to visitors.
